Shark Week; A limited time only for Shark Helmets at closeout prices!

These Sharks are more comfortable in the open air, preferably moving at high speed, than in the ocean.

Far more often spotted with a motorcycle rider than a surfer, they are more likely to protect you from certain harm than make you an appetizer.

Light weight, well ventilated, providing great visibility, while not sacrificing safety or your eardrums, Shark helmets are some of the best motorcycle helmets on the market.

After all, there has to be a reason why racing greats, Carl Fogarty, Miguel Duhamel, and Alex Barros, among many others, chose to race with Shark.

Carl Fogerty trusted Shark when racing with Ducati

So, needless to say, I was surprised, and not pleasantly so, to learn that Shark is now without a U.S. distributor.  Which, in layman's terms, means if you're in the States, you'll not be able to buy a Shark helmet.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.  But I do have some good news as well.  At least for a time, you can still find Shark helmets and at a very good, closeout price. Whew!

Megan, of  Ducati Forza, Atlantic Motorcycles, has informed me that she still has a good selection of Shark's RSI and RSR2 models, plus shields and padding.  (No surprise there, Ducati Forza is serious about its racing and performance gear and parts: Click HERE for EMD's review)

The RSR2 is the lightest weight helmet in its class.  For anyone who rides distance, or whose neck isn't the size of a tree trunk, this is a big deal.  Its a very big deal for the racing class of riders, which heavily influenced its development, creating a top-line, elite sport helmet.

It exceeds DOT and ECE 22-05 safety regulations.  Also no small deal if you hit the deck with your noggin.

I also happen to be a fan of the "Push One" visor quick-release system, which uses 4 anchor points, and the ease at which visors can be swapped out.  (If you've ever fought with an Arai or Suomy helmet, you will very much appreciate this particular feature.)

The RSR2: shell made from Carbon/Aramid, multi-directional composite fibers

The RSI, although a bit heavier, also exceeds DOT and ECE 22-05 standards and shares visor features with the RSR2.  Although it does not come with the racing tear-offs like the RSR2 does.

You can't go wrong with either helmet.  And right now, you can get either at a price that simply cannot be beaten.  With questions about the helmets and size/style availability, Megan is the person to ask.  She also is the person who will take your order.

Just be sure not to wait too long.  Once these Sharks are gone, that's it.
