Good to Be Desmo; The Ducati 1199 Panigale Does Hollywood

Its a Ducati Universe.  And when you're Ducati, and you're introducing the hottest, baddest, fastest, most superlative-laden Ducati ever, you don't just roll it out the door at the factory in Bologna so a few moto-journalists can shoot photos and ask a couple of questions.

When you are Ducati, you follow up the Panigale's stunning introduction to the world at EICMA in Milan with a trip across the pond to introduce the Superbike to North America.  Hollywood.  To be exact.

(Surprised?  You shouldn't be. Ducati has appeared in enough blockbuster movies to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Glitz, glamor, glitter galore.  Nothing subtle about this Ducati.)

And when you're Ducati, its not just an everyday Hollywood event.  Its spotlights, velvet ropes and red carpet at the W Hotel.  Pool-straddling platforms on the rooftop at Drai's Nightclub. Models in their spandex finest.  Money-movers and shakers.  Celebrities.

If you ride a 1199 Panigale, you will attract women who look like her.

And Nicky Hayden to yank the cover, unveiling the Panigale to the Hollywood elite.

I would have attended just to see the Kentucky Kid.

(What?  Male riders and moto fans have the spandexed models and Umbrella Girls.  No reason why I can't enjoy Hayden's good looks in addition to his racing.)

The Panigale, while out in the public view, is still technically under wraps.  We haven't heard it.  No one other than a select Ducati few have ridden the machine.  The 1199 Panigale's accessories are out, but the bike is not.

But if the 1199 Panigale moves even half as good as it looks, expect a celebrity rollout wherever the Panigale may be.  It is good to be Desmo.

Cheers!
